Solid Carbide Material

Solid-carbide construction for rigidity, hardness and wear resistance.

Ground Thread Geometry & Internal Coolant

Ground thread geometry and internal coolant channels support heat control and stable tapping when the correct pilot hole, lubricant and machine conditions are used.

Through-Hole Chip Evacuation

Solid-carbide construction for rigidity, hardness and wear resistance.

Thread-Forming Option

Thread-forming variants create threads by plastic deformation and are intended for compatible ductile materials.

Blind-Hole Chip Evacuation

Spiral-flute variants evacuate chips upward and are intended for compatible blind-hole tapping applications.

Shank & Holder Compatibility

Confirm shank size and holder compatibility before machining.

Thread Bottom Hole Diameter Chart Metric Threads

★ It is recommended to use a bottom hole for internal threads of grade JIS 2. (Excludes some specifications.)
★ The bottom holes for internal threads not specified in JIS standards are provided as reference values.

Thread Cutting Tool Cutting Parameters

When selecting the cutting speed, it is necessary to consider the material, type, number of flutes, shape of the pilot hole, workpiece material, and cutting fluid,
among other machining conditions. Additionally, cutting fluid serves three functions: lubrication, cooling, and chip breaking. Threading is a complex machining process,
and it is essential to choose an appropriate cutting speed

1.This table provides general selection criteria, which may be subject to change based on the conditions of use.
2.Refer to the tap selection criteria table for various applications when making a selection.
3.The values in the quenched and tempered steel () column represent the cutting speeds for CPM series taps.

Cutting Speed Vc(m/ min) And Feed f(mm/ Tooth) Recommended Form

Suggestion:
The feed rate when the tool first engages the material f(mm/ tooth)The feed rate is 70% lower than that during normal thread cutting.
The tool cuts in along the tangential direction of the arc
For example:
Thread cutting feed rate:0.3(mm/ tooth)
Tool engagement feed rate:0.09(mm/ tooth)
